 É de origem holandesa mas vive e trabalha em Portugal há 18 anos. Nas suas obras aparecem muitas das tradições portuguesas que estão a desaparecer. É interessante ver, que alguém que nem é de cá, faz o registo das mesmas!
As cadeiras são uma parte importante da sua obra mas ela tem outros trabalhos que merecem a pena ser vistos. Deixo aqui alguns trabalhos da galeria das cadeiras mas também das esplanadas e dos cafés. Podem ver alguns de Entre-os-Rios, Faro, Viana.... e há muitos mais temas como podem confirmar. Gosta de trabalhar por encomenda e tem as suas obras distribuídas por coleccionadores pelo mundo inteiro. Para além das 13 galerias de pintura, tem ainda uma outra de fotografias do Alto-Alentejo.  I was born in 1948, and raised in Bussum, Holland. I studied graphic design at Academie Artibus in Utrecht. However as a painter I am self-taught.
Empty chairs are a particular passion of mine, possibly suggesting a void in space and time - something left behind. Other themes that appeal to me invoke a similar sentiment: old interiors, abandoned carts, certain street scenes all representing a continuing theme. The contrast between subdued dingy lit interiors and the harsh southern sunlight is an ongoing inspiration.
For more than 15 years I have lived and worked in Portugal and have now settled in the sparsely populated area of the Northern Alentejo, bordering the Extremadura in Spain. The landscape around me seems to pre-date man yet is rich with antiquities confirming his existence. Farming techniques are little changed and it is still possible to see mule drawn ploughs working the land under olive and cork oak trees. Cork is an essential part of the local economy and its production, being taken from the trees at nine year intervals, only serves to reinforce the timeless nature of my surroundings. I exhibit extensively in both Portugal and Spain and offer lessons on an individual basis.
