Aperitivo Christmas Pantomime: Jorge In Wonderland
When Alice, of Lewis Carroll’s children’s book Alice in Wonderland, walked out in disgust from the Mad Hatter’s tea party, the Hatter and the March Hare were trying to stuff the Dormouse into the teapot.
In the December play by Aperitivo Theatre Group, Jorge and the White Rabbit are on a “Save the Dormouse!” mission to get it out of the teapot again. Helped – and hindered – by a cast including the Walrus and the Carpenter, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Caterpillar, the Ladybird and the Sheep, plus a guest appearance by David Attenborough, this rock’n’roll version of Wonderland is decidedly crazier than the original.
As usual with Aperitivo performances, there are four different languages going on at the same time, but eventually everything becomes clear. Well, clearish, anyway!
Jorge in Wonderland will take place on 5th & 6th December at 20:00, and on 7th December at 16:00 at the Museum, São Brás de Alportel. A slap-up High Tea will be available, as well as wine, and can be taken into the theatre, where you can reserve a small table.
Admission 7 € for general public (Friends 5 €); children free.
Friday 5th, Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th December

Aperitivo Christmas Pantomime: Jorge In Wonderland
Why is the dormouse in the teapot? Is it fault of the Mad Hatter and the even madder March Hare? Or is there some other mysterious reason?
Find out when Young Jorge and the White Rabbit go on a "Save the Dormouse!" Campaign, helped – and hindered – by Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Caterpillar and the Ladybird, the Walrus and the Carpenter. And a sheep in a rowboat. David Attenborough provides a little scientific sanity and the Mary-Janes provide musical interruptions.
For goodness sake don’t try to understand it – just relax and enjoy!
Aperitivo performance group will be giving three performances of Jorge in Wonderland – in simultaneous Portuguese, English, German and Dutch. If you would like to reserve a table in the theatre and order the Mad Hatter's "Dish Of The Day", please call Vânia in the office on 966 329 073 or e-mail: admin@amigos-museu-sbras.org.
