Arte Viva 2007 (Saturday 14th / Sunday 15th)

The Algarve´s biggest festival of live art and music takes place between the hours of 6.00 pm and midnight on both days. This year over 40 artists will be on site demonstrating their work. Live music is provided on Saturday by the great show band, Oo-Boop-I-Do (complete with gangster gear) playing hot dance music (7.30 pm). Showing on our catwalk at the same time we are proud to present yet again Jouk Harris and her real woman fashion models. Later Bandoojah (10.00 pm) will continue the party, playing lively reggae/hip hop/funk. On Sunday, Amar Guitarra, led by João Cuña, will perform music especially chosen to highlight the sound of the Portuguese guitar (including jazz, bossa nova and tango) at 7.30 pm and Veredas da Memória (10.00 pm) will play out to the end of the Festival with their traditional Portuguese music. There will also be another opportunity to spot Jouk´s designer clothes. During the evening of both nights there will also be unusual and exciting displays of street theatre - fire eating, trick cycling, juggling and more. There will be a supervised children´s play area with traditional games, face painting and young ones can enjoy opportunities to try out their artistic talents. Over both evenings there will be a wide selection of food available, ranging from the traditional barbeque to Moroccan cakes.

Songs For A Summer Evening (Saturday 7th)

with Helena Tsouranova (piano) and Francisco Brazão (pictured). Bar and light refreshments from 7.30 pm.

Entry: 12 € (Friends 10 €). Saturday 7th, 8.00 pm
