Art Exhibition Opening: Roots, Trunks, Trees
The inauguration of this collective exhibition of teachers’ work, will take place on the 2nd June at 18:00 in the New Gallery of the Museu do Trajo de São Brás de Alportel.
"What teachers do when they are not teaching", was the idea behind the first exhibition of work by a group of teachers. It was organised by the Group of the Schools of the Parish of São Brás which has its main office at the Escola Básica 2,3 Poeta Bernardo de Passos in collaboration with the Museu do Trajo and the Amigos do Museu. Other schools throughout Portugal from North to South will also participate in the “Festa das Artes 2009”.
The participating Schools are as follows:
- Escola Básica 2,3 Dr. Joaquim Magalhães
- Faro Escola Básica 2,3 Padre Cabanita, Loulé
- Escola Básica 2,3 Poeta Bernardo de Passos, São Brás de Alportel
- Escola Básica 2,3 Santo António, Faro
- Escola D. Paio Peres Correia, Tavira
- Escola Secundária Inês de Castro, Porto
- Escola Secundária José Belchior Viegas, São Brás de Alportel
- Escola Secundária Tomás Cabreira, Faro
- Escola Superior Tecnológica e Gestão, Portalegre
This Festival of Arts is an annual activity that was begun twelve years ago by Escola Básica 2,3 Poeta Bernardo de Passos and its objective is to show the different talents, activities and interests developed by the teachers alongside their normal didactic practises.
Every year a different theme is chosen and this school year 2008/2009 the theme is “roots, trunks, trees”.
The exhibition runs from 2nd June until 4th July 2009.
