Art Exhibition Opening: Naked Ape & Friends (New Gallery) featuring work by Susanne Sommer, Elza Newton, Steff Baüer, Milita and Henrique Silva - paintings and sculptures.
“The Naked Ape” – the title of a book by Desmond Morris that made a stir in the 70s, and which discussed how animal behaviour patterns could be related to human behaviour patterns. The five artists taking part in this heavily sculpture-orientated exhibition are all exploring elements of humanity and, sometimes, the relationship of humans to animals. It promises to be an interesting and provoking exhibition, and, at the opening, which takes place at 19.00 on 7th March, will feature an amusing theatre piece by Aperitivo, the Museum’s performance group, which also focuses on human behaviour patterns.
