Biel Ballester

Biel Ballester studied classic guitar at the prestigious LUTHIER SCHOOL in Barcelona. There he spent two years with teacher and concertist Alex Garrobé and four with teacher and concertist Fernando Rodriguez. He's also gone to classic guitar master classes from people such as: José Tomás, David Russell, Aniello Desiderio, Manuel Barrueco, Marco Socias, Hopkinson Smith and Jordi Savall (the last two ones specialists in Barroque music).

Biel finished his musical studies at Barcelona's superior conservatorium in year 2000. His self-taught passion for gypsy-jazz has brought him to give concerts across Europe and he has been invited to play with top Gypsy Jazz bands such as the Rosenberg Trio, the Robin Nolan trio, Hot Club de norvége among others.

Some of his recordings have been chosen to be in CD compilations of the best Gypsy Jazz players of the world. His albums are are edited in USA by the record label Refined Records and distributed in France, UK, Korea and Japan.
