Jazz ta parta
Formed in 2005 by mainly algarvean musicians, this project was born within little open air gigs and jam sessions, where good mood and friendship were always the main goal. Despite (or due to) the quite diverse backgrounds of each musician, the group created a work style where jazz standards are re-arranged in a very characteristic way and the composing of original tunes is of major interest, making "surprise become a verb", built upon a polychromatic ground of experiences. In the sound, the heat of jazz-funk, the energy of rock and electro and an african spice between the land and the sea.
Jazz ta parta comprises: André Capela - Sax and flute; Leon Baldesberger - Trumpet; Amadis Monteiro - Drums; João Araújo - Electric Piano and Synthesiser; Marco Martins - Bass
